LOS ANGELES Harvey Weinstein, the film producer

whose treatment of women fueled the Me Too

movement in 2017, was sentenced  to 16 years in

prison for  sex offenses in Los Angeles County on

Thursday. Weinstein was ordered to serve his 

sentence in Los Angeles after serving a 23-year

sentence on sexual assault charges in New York in

2020. Thursday's verdict all but guarantees that the

70-year-old former Hollywood mogul, whose health is

failing, will  spend the rest of his life in prison. In

December, the Los Angeles Superior Court jury found

that Mr. Weinstein is guilty of three charges: forcible

rape, forcible oral copulation, and sexual penetration

with a foreign body. Under California law, he could

have been sentenced  to 24 years in prison. All three
